William Greenfield was born in Pennsylvania. He was the editor for several art and design publications in New York City and received his Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
His work is in private and public collections including the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, the Münchner Stadtmuseum, Stiftung Moritzburg in Halle, Germany and the Brooklyn Museum. A major exhibition of William's work recently traveled to the Museu da Imagem in Portugal.
He lives in New York City when not traveling.
